Goldies sessions start in Nailsea

THE Goldies singing charity is putting smiles on faces of people in Nailsea with its new monthly daytime sessions.

Goldies started in the Bath area six years ago and now runs over 90 sessions across Southern England and South Wales.

Sir Cliff Richard is the Patron of the charity which has at its heart, the memory-evoking music of the 50s onwards.

Goldies is NOT a choir but it does use music at its open access monthly session which takes place at Nailsea Methodist Church in Silver Street from 10.30am to 11.30am on the last Tuesday of each month. Independent academic research by Bristol University has concluded that the charity is having a positive impact on hundreds of lives.

Rachel Walker (pictured) is the session leader at Nailsea. Rachel is well-known in North Somerset as musical director for the superb Euphoria Show Choir. She has performed with them in New York, at the Royal Albert Hall and next year Hollywood, California!

Goldies founder Grenville Jones said;

“With support from Nailsea Town Council I am delighted that Goldies is now up and running in the town. Rachel is a brilliant session leader and we welcome everyone to go along to Nailsea Methodist Church to have a good sing song, make new friends and have a thoroughly enjoyable time.”

Goldies sessions also take place in Clevedon on the first Tuesday of each month, Weston-super-Mare on the second Tuesday of each month, Pill on the second Thursday of each month and Portishead on the last Friday of each month.
