Time after Time is a community project for schools across Bath & North East Somerset. Its aim is to reach across generations, bringing together young and old through singing and other related age-awareness and intergenerational activities. The project is organised by the Golden-Oldies Charity and invites schools from Bath and North East Somerset to take part in the activities listed below or to select their own individual projects based on the Time after Time theme.

The project will culminate in a week of events between Saturday October 2nd and Friday October 9th 2010.
On Saturday October 2nd the Bath Pavilion in the centre of the City will host the launch day of the Time after Time celebration from 10am. Free transport will bring the elderly to the Pavilion where there will be school displays, music, drama and much more. Organisations such as the Police and Fire Brigade will take part as well as other organisations who work with the elderly.
Agencies and organisations that support the elderly across Bath & North East Somerset are invited to take part and showcase their services. To get involved please contact Joy Fraser, the Time after Time Project Manager.
If you are a school teacher reading this we hope that YOUR school will engage in this unique Community Cohesion Project.
Schools are encouraged to think about intergenerational projects and activities. These can run throughout the year, culminating in the Time after Time celebration week. An example: Your school could choose a photographic memory project, working with a group of elderly people from your community. The end product could then form a display in the Bath Pavilion on Saturday October 2nd. You then might hold an open day during the Time after Time week inviting parents and grandparents as well as other senior citizens into school. This might include some music making.

Joy Fraser is the Project Manager for Time after Time. Joy will be available to liaise with schools to provide support and advice should you wish your school to be involved. Please contact Joy here or call 01761 470006.

Top of those Pops!
The Golden-Oldies singing sessions across the area are based on the popular songs of the fifties, sixties and seventies. As part of the Time after Time project, senior schools are invited to create their own pop group. They will select two pop songs from a UK hit parade of this period. Each group will perform on stage in an early evening show at the Pavilion on Oct 2nd when judging will take place. Dress and dance may be used to illustrate the Top of the Pops theme. There will be a prizes for the top bands which will be awarded to their school music department. Contact Grenville Jones or call 01761 470006 to get involved.
