Our Picture above shows some of the children in the Colerne Primary School Choir who recorded our "Diamond Day" song in November. Jubilee Time after Time is a Goldies schools inter-generational project which is now running across the West of England. Funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, many schools have already signed up to take part and engage their children and the elderly in their communities with projects based on the Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012. Find out how you can download Diamond Day for your children to sing and full details of how your school can get involved with Jubilee Time after Time by clicking here
Welcome to the website of the Golden-Oldies Charity, more often referred to simply as "Goldies!"
In four short years, we have come a long way and now run our popular singing sessions across the West of England each week. In July this year we started our first one in South Wales and have launched regular sessions under the banner Goldies CYMRU.
OUR ethos is to promote and sustain independence in the growing elderly UK population. However, as 'Goldies' has grown we welcome many people to our sessions who have learning difficulties or suffer from Dementia or Alzheimers. Our singing and stretching sessions across the West of England and Wales give people, some who may be lonely and vulnerable, social events and concerts to look forward to and enjoy.
As already stated, many of our weekly sessions are attended by people with learning difficulties and dementia. Goldies is for everyone - the power of music knows no boundaries. Through the fun daytime singing sessions and other organised events we bring together people and promote social cohesion.
We are very proud of the fact that this charity is brightening the lives of thousands of people.
Golden-Oldies also offers a platform so that people who attend the sessions (and their families) learn more about all aspects of a healthy lifestyle. This can include nutritional guidance, home security, help and advice on how life can be lived to the full, whatever your age! Goldies encourages people to venture out from their homes and make new friends.
Our award-winning Time after Time inter-generational school projects have bought together the young and the not so young. Jubilee Time after Time is the latest Big Lottery funded programme reaching out across the ITV West region.

An independent research study by Dr. Barbra Teater and Dr. Mark Baldwin from the Department of Social & Policy Sciences at the University of Bath has shown that the work of the Golden-Oldies Charity that brings singing and friendship to the lives of the elderly and isolated in the West of England is having a real effect on their lives.
"The most important result was the statistically significant improvement in self-reported overall health from before their participation in the Goldies sessions to now."
